A novelyst plugin providing buttons for frequently used actions.

Installation

If novelyst is installed, the setup script auto-installs the novelyst_buttons plugin in the novelyst plugin directory.

Options

Select icon size

Default is Small icons (16x16 pixels). You can select Big icons (24x24 pixels), if you like.

Disable the hovertips

Hovertips are small text windows that display the command when the mouse pointer hovers over the icon. They are enabled by default. If you don’t need them, you can save system resources by ticking the Disable the hovertips checkbox.

Note: Hovertips will only show up if you have the idlelib package installed. If not, a warning message is displayed during setup. However, the plugin still works.

Operation

Go back Go back in the browsing history. Same as F11.

Go forward Go forward in the browsing history. Same as F12.

Show Book Go to the “Book” branch and expand it. Same as View > Show Book or F6.

Show Characters Go to the “Characters” branch and expand it. Same as View > Show Characters or F7.

Show Locations Go to the “Locations” branch and expand it. Same as View > Show Locations or F8.

Show Items Go to the “Items” branch and expand it. Same as View > Show Items or F9.

Show Research Go to the “Research” branch and expand it. Same as View > Show Research or F10.

Show Planning Go to the “Planning” branch and expand it. Same as View > Show Planning or F11.

Show Project notes Go to the “Project notes” branch and expand it. Same as View > Show Project notes or F12.

Save Save the project. Same as File > Save or Ctrl-S.

Reload Reload the project, e.g. after editing. Same as File > Reload or Ctrl-R.

Lock/Unlock Toggle the lock status of the project.

Discard manuscript Discard the current manuscript. Same as File > Discard manuscript

Export manuscript Export the manuscript for editing.

Toggle Text viewer Toggle Text viewer. Same as View > Toggle Text viewer or Ctrl-T.

Toggle Properties Toggle Properties. Same as View > Toggle Properties or Ctrl-Alt-T.

The Icons are based on the Eva Icons, published under the MIT License. The original black and white icons were colored for this plugin by the maintainer.
