Converter between yWriter and novelWriter
This project is maintained by peter88213
The yw2nw Python script converts yWriter 7 projects to new novelWriter projects and vice versa.
Using other yw7 file converters you can build your own toolchain for importing an outline or a work in progress into NovelWriter.
Requirements
- Python version 3.6+.
Supported file formats
- Read and write file format version 1.5 created with novelWriter 2.0
- Read and write .yw7 files created with yWriter
Download and install
Download the latest release (version 1.0.1)
- Unzip the downloaded zipfile “yw2nw_v1.0.1.zip” into a new folder.
- Move into this new folder and launch setup.py to install the script for the local user.
- Create a shortcut on the desktop when asked.
- Open “README.md” for usage instructions.
