Managing multiple books
If the book projects accumulate over time, the nv_collection plugin may be a useful aid. This allows you to create collections of books, which you can then conveniently open with novelibre. With nv_collection you can also group the books into series.
Organizing book series
With a book series, multiple books are sharing their characters and story world. There also can be overarching plot lines. If you want to transfer characters, locations, items, or plot lines of a book project into another one, novelibre supports this via the XML export.
In case you maintain a “series bible” with Zim Desktop Wiki, you can connect it as a “project wiki” with multiple novelibre projects via the nv_zim plugin.
Splitting books
If you want to split a large book into two or more books, you can use novelibre to move the relevant chapters to a new project. All characters, locations, items and plot lines that are related to the moved sections are copied to the new project, and the relationships are retained.
Joining contents of different books
You also can move chapters, sections, and other tree elements to other novelibre projects via the clipboard. However, relationships are lost.
