User guide

This page refers to the latest nv_color_palette release. You can open it with Help > Color palette plugin help or F1 when the palette dialog is active.

Predefined palette

You can choose a predefined color palette using the dropdown list at the upper left of the top pane. The predefined palettes are derived from the color palettes that come with the LibreOffice distribution. Clicking on a color field will select the color.

Custom palette

Below the predefined palette pane, there is the custom palette area. The colors of the custom palette are stored in the plugin’s configuration for reuse across different sessions and projects. Clicking on a color field will select the color.

You can add the selected color via clicking on the Add selected color button. If the selected color is included in the custom palette, this button is labeled Remove selected color instead. Then cklicking on this button will remove the selected color from the custom palette.

Setting user-defined colors

If you need a color that is not included in any palette, you can select it either by specifying a hex value, or by calling up the system color chooser.

Entering hexadecimal color values

The hexadecimal value of the selected color is displayed in an entry field and can be changed. The color value begins with a hash symbol, followed by two hexadecimal digits each for red, green, and blue. For example, the value for red is #ff0000.

Press the Enter key to finish entering your input. Invalid input will not be accepted.

Applying the selected color

Click on the Apply button. This will assign the selected color to the element selected in the novelibre project tree, and close the dialog.

Canceling the color selection

To close the dialog without applying the selected color, either

click on the Cancel button, or
close the window via the upper right button, or
press Alt-F4 (Windows) or Ctrl-Q.
